new pet

    The dim and dark lonesomeness was surrounding Zerum, his bed soft and chains were starting to cut into his neck. He was so...alone, his puppeteer was out and he was STARVING. And not to mention he was dying for his puppeteer to come home, just for some cuddles and attention. The voices were even being quiet, he was truly as alone as alone could be. At least he wasn't being humiliated or degraded. He heard the door open, and standing in the doorway was his master, the puppeteer. And in his arms, he was holding something, though it was hard to make out. He ran up to his master and smiled, no beamed to see him.

     "Hello my master, how are you?" He hopped up and down, his wings flapping in excitement and nuzzled him, oh how he adored being around his master! Discord was smiling, and curled his sepentesque body around Zerum, purring and smiling. “Hello my pet, now now settle down, she’s still asleep after all~” She? as if a pony? as if a friend? is this true?!

“May I see?!” Discord lowers his arms and lets Zerum get a peek, a little dark grey alicorn filly with wounds and silver markings,a white mane, and the golden apple cutie mark that he also bears. She was sleeping peacefully, as discord strapped a chain around her neck like Zerum. “she'll be named Viles, to match your name of zero, her name means Insignificant~ Now make little Viles feel comfortable. I shall be back, feed her this bowl of berries when she wakes up. I’ll leave you two to get to know each other~” He pats Zerum’s mane, making him coo like a little bird and his wings flutter, nodding and smiling.

The door shut and he positioned himself to lay on his belly, like an excited little puppy, his tail even wagging. The filly looked so peaceful while asleep, her chest rising and falling regularly as she rolled over, wincing as she rolled onto her hurt wing. He jolted and ran up to her, laying by her side for comfort. She slowly opened her eyes, appearing a deep sapphire.

She slowly woke up, rubbing her eyes and yawning, then noticed the Clink of chains and her discolored hooves usually white now a dark grey, her eyes growing wide with shock and potentially fearful. "I-it's alright! You're safe now, but you're hurt, your wing. oh well, the puppeteer can fix that. I'm Zerum! " she stopped her panicking and glanced around to view her surroundings. It seemed to be in a basement or perhaps a simple furniture less room, save for the doggy bed, of course. There was a chain around her neck, and a golden apple on her flank. Wait, a cutie mark! but how did she earn it? all she remembers is running through the woods after….after….

"Who are you?" She then noticed the voice was coming from the skinny dark grey stallion sitting in front of her, his eyes wide in curiosity and a sort of innocence. He then smiles and sits next to her, wrapping his wings around her. "I am Zerum, and you are Viles. "

wait, did he just say what her name was? That's not even her name! The nerve of the stallion! She stood up, her chest puffed up in anger and looked him in the eyes.
"My name is Chibi! And where am I?! What did you do to me?! You better tell me!"
"Oh no, the Puppeteer is your master, not me! He is also mine! He named you, giving you a new life!"
"New...life?"

Zerum, As he calls himself, places a bowl in front of her, berries in it. She sniffs it and takes a berry cautiously, then sits down preening her feathers, Starting to cry,  and he wrapped his hooves around her in an embrace of love and sympathy.  “I know how confusing it all is at first, but fret not my little new friend! You shall love your new life, the master is very loving and he feeds us. all we have to do is obey him and the voices!” Oh no, not THOSE voices, the world of Tumblr! she’s heard of them from other ponies, and this must be one of the voices doings!

“I don’t want a new life! I just want to go home, and be left alone!” Zerum looked perplexed, perhaps he should see if she had a goodie box, maybe the master left something for her! He opens the case and looks around inside, though it seems barren except for a ragged old blanket, rather musty looking, even. He picked it up in his mouth when he heard one of the voices

Mr. anonymous-Hey Zerum, maybe you could cheer her up? I know, check her box again I left something in there!

Zerum nodded his head, complying with the orders he was given as he always should. It was why he was there after all, to be a good boy and obey! The box had a small teddy bear in it, though it looked rather creepy, missing an eye and colored black and white. nonetheless, he picked it up and trotted over to Viles, who was looking a little more than uncomfortable, lying down on the floor and looking tense but at the same time, heart broken. He drops the teddy bear by her, hoping it pleases her. That was his main purpose, obey and please. be a good boy, and you don’t get punished! he was doing as he was told.

2.get to know her
3.give her the berries
4.go in the chest. yes, yes, master would definitely be pleased!

She glanced over to the bear, and took it into her arms, hugging it and crying. “who am I kidding...this is my home now. all I had for home is gone. And.it’s.all.my.FAULT!!” she threw the teddy bear on the ground, crying once more. oh no, did he not please her? was he going to be punished? he ran to the bear and retrieved it for her, dropping it at her hooves. she looked up, wiping her eyes and sniffling. “It’s not you, Mr. Zerum. It’s me...it’s all me…” she slumped down and turned her back to him, so all he could see were her wings and tail.

Anonymous- Hey Zerum, why don’t you do that thing discord does? you know, wrap yourself around her with your wing on her to comfort her.

he considered this notion, then nodded. It WAS an order, after all. he wrapped himself around her, curling and coiling his warm body over her, his wings plush and supporting her head.

“A Lullaby….but what to….of course!” he nuzzled himself into her fur, cuddling and humming, the soothing lull of his voice making her drowsy.

He lay his head on her, falling into a quiet sleep. Viles was fast asleep, her hooves wrapped around Zerum in a form of embrace. As he fell asleep, he saw his master come in, standing in the doorway. he knelt down and ruffled his mane, smiling. “Good boy, Zerum. sleep well you two~”
